New Delhi, Aug 08: Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly's marketing agent today sought to scotch speculation about their star client severing ties with them in favour of a multi-million rupee deal with another marketing giant.
"There is no question of Ganguly signing up with another company. He cannot do it, it just cannot happen," Sanjay Lal, CEO of Percept D'Mark, told news agencies over phone from Mumbai.

Emphasising that the Indian captain enjoyed a very good rapport with his company, Lal said there was no question of Ganguly cutting ties with the company.

"There is nothing that has gone wrong (between us). We have recently negotiated a couple of deals with him. We are very close in terms of relationship which transcends beyond just the professional," Lal said refuting reports that Ganguly was not keen to renew his contract with Percept. "There is nothing like renewing the contract. Reports that the contract expires on August 31 are totally baseless. We do have a document which mentions a date but that is strictly confidential.

"Ours is a fool-proof clean marriage. We may have different style of work but the basic core of our relationship cannot go wrong."

Lal also dismissed a media report which said Ganguly was keen on signing a Rs 600-million deal with Nimbus.

"It is a market speculation. There is no truth in this report," he said. Ganguly could not be contacted for his comments as he is in Sydney for a commercial shoot. Bureau Report
