Agrawal being grilled for stamps seizures: Pasricha
Mumbai, Dec 02: Mumbai Commissioner of Police, P S Pasricha today said Prasoon Agrawal, the prime suspect in the Nasik stamps dump which was unearthed by Zee News channel yesterday, was being interrogated by Versova police here in connection with the Nasik and Panvel stamps and coins seizure.

Pasricha today said Prasoon Agrawal, the prime suspect in the
Nasik stamps dump which was unearthed by Zee News channel
yesterday, was being interrogated by Versova police here in
connection with the Nasik and Panvel stamps and coins seizure.
Agrawal, who was arrested by suburban Versova police some
days ago in connection with a fake franking case of Rs 1541,
shot to limelight after police seized alleged fake adhesive
stamps worth Rs 72 lakh from his Nasik residence.
Zee News channel yesterday undertook a clandestine operation in which its reporter barged into another house owned by Prasoon Agrawal and allegedly exposed fake stamps and foreign currency dump lying inside.
The Nasik Police later confiscated the dump, while Versova Police raided two more houses of Agrawal in Panvel late yesterday midnight, sources said.
According to DCP Bipin Kumar Singh, who had supervised the Versova Police's Nasik raid, told reporters that 450 bags and 550 boxes were seized during the raid on Agrawal's Panvel houses and large quantity of old coins, used and new postal stamps were recovered from them.
"At present our teams are still busy counting the stamps and the coins and it till take time before we send the seizure to experts for verification", DCP Singh told reporters.
Earlier, Commissioner Pasricha said the Versova Police was interrogating Agrawal about the Nasik and Panvel seizures and whether he has any connection with the Telgi fake stamps and stamp paper scam.
