Three dead as blast rocks US diplomatic convoy in Gaza

The blast went off shortly after 10:00am (1330 IST)
as the convoy was travelling in the Beit Hanun area near the
Erez border crossing which leads to Israel. At least one of
the three victims was totally blown to pieces, the officials
added.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued its sweep of the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah today, arresting suspected militants and demolishing houses, Palestinian security sources said.
Since they launched a fresh raid into the border city before dawn yesterday, Israeli troops have destroyed nine houses near the army-controlled buffer area between the south of the strip and Egypt, the sources said.
