Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Sunday told BJP president Jana Krishnamurthy to stand firm on the Hindutva card. Krishnamurthy is in Mumbai to attend the party's state convention, had an informal meeting with Thackeray at his residence "Matoshree" in the suburban Bandra, according to BJP sources.
Thackeray, while praising the BJP's Goa convention's decision of BJP not to remove Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, said "BJP has to be firm on Hindutva."
However, Krishnamurthy explained the position of BJP and said his party was firm on NDA's stand in the Centre. "The interest of the nation was important," he said.
Krishnamurthy was accompanied by Union Heavy Industries Minister Manohar Joshi, BJP Maharahstra and Goa incharge and Member of Parliament Bal Apte and party city unit chief Vinod Tawde. Bureau Report
