New Delhi, Nov 13: Delhi Health Minister A K Walia and former health minister Harsh Vardhan were among 143 candidates who filed their nominations today for the December one assembly elections in the state. Walia, a senior Congress leader, filed his nomination from Geeta Colony constituency represented by him in the current House in the presence of thousands of his supporters.
Vardhan filed his papers from his traditional Shakti Nagar constituency.
Besides Walia, one more Congress candidate Balram Tanwar filed his nomination papers from Mehrauli.
The party announced its first list of 46 candidates late last night.
From BJP, 15 candidates apart from Vardhan filed their papers.
Others to file their papers were two from CPI, four from NCP, six from BSP and 113 independents.
As the process for filing of nominations closes tomorrow, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, her four Cabinet colleagues, Delhi Congress president Chaudhary Prem Singh and Assembly Speaker Subhash Chopra will file their papers tomorrow.
