Hizbul militant, policeman killed in J&K encounter
Srinagar, July 03: A Hizbul Mujahideen militant and a policeman were killed and two CRPF personnel injured in an encounter in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today.

The exchange of fire took place in Kadipora village last night when a joint search party of police and CRPF laid a cordon to flush out militants.
Hiding militants shot dead Indian Reserve Police constable Niraj Chatak and injured CRPF assistant commandant N A Saxena and his security guard.
Army and BSF reinforcements joined the search party and in the exchange of fire which lasted several hours Hizbul militant Zubair alias Zafarullah, a resident of Bhaderwah area of Doda district, was killed.
An AK assault rifle, two magazines and 20 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the militant.
A search was on for his associates, the sources said.
