Bhandari urges partyworkers to overthrow Chamling govt
Gangtok, Dec 05: Former Chief Minister and Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC) president Nar Bahadur Bhandari today appealed to his partyworkers to take a vow of overthrowing the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) government in the state and ensure the Congress`s return to power after the assembly polls due next year.
Gangtok, Dec 05: Former Chief Minister and Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC) president Nar Bahadur Bhandari today appealed to his partyworkers to take a vow of overthrowing the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) government in the state and ensure the Congress's return to power after the assembly polls due next year.
Addressing a party meeting here convened to formally announce the SPCC's new executive and district committees besides frontal wings, Bhandari said, "Congress alone was capable of fulfilling the dream of a happy and prosperous Sikkim through clean and effective governance."
He urged partyworkers and supporters to pour out in large numbers to make the party's public meeting scheduled to be held at Pakyong Bazar in east district on December 14, a grand success. The public meeting is aimed at exposing the "casteist", "unjust" and "conspiratorial rule" of the SDF government in the state, he said.
Besides Bhandari himself and Namkha Gyaltsen who were nominated the SPCC's president and working president respectively by the AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in august this year, a 64-member executive committee of the pradesh unit was announced today.
