Raipur, Oct 16: In an yet another set back to the ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh ahead of December 1 assembly polls, senior party leader Resham Lal Jangde today joined BJP. Jangde told reporters here that he decided to resign from the ruling Congress and join BJP to work in a better way for his scheduled caste community. "As a member of Congress, I found there was rampant corruption at all levels and especially in the Panchayati Raj system and instead of it becoming a tool for the development of the poor, the system has divided the village into several groups, fighting among themselves," he said. Jangde, who had left BJP on a minor issue in 1996 said he was happy to return to the BJP fold. Bureau Report
