Jaipur, June 18: Rajasthan government spent Rs 2,641 crores during the last four and half years on implementing drinking water supply schemes both in rural and urban areas. While Rs 2023 crores were spent in rural areas, Rs 618 crores were spent in urban areas benefiting 37,643 scarcity hit villages and towns and 51,343 problematic hamlets, an official release said today.
The state government also sanctioned 15 large drinking water schemes costing Rs 3536.90 crores, it said.
In addition, Rs 533 crore worth water supply schemes had also been sanctioned for 3,500 villages where water sources were saline or contained fluoride, the release said. Bureau Report
