New Delhi, June 08: Shiv Sena today said "reservation on the basis of economic status" would be its poll plank in the coming assembly elections. "Some political parties were trying to divide Hindu's on caste lines and Shiv Sena would thwart any such effort," its Delhi state president Jaibhagwan Goyal said while addressing a meeting of the office bearers here.

Welcoming Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's call for "reservation on the basis of economic status instead of caste", the party also decided to launch an agitation to press the demand.
