Bhilwara, Aug 03: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today failed to hold its proposed 'trishul deeksha' here today after the district administration denied it permission. As distribution of tridents has been banned by the state government, the district administration could not grant permission for it, an official spokesman said.

VHP state general secretary Bhagawati Prasad Saraswat said that although chief minister Ashok Gehlot had been saying that there is no ban on ‘trishul’ of God Shankar but in practice the administration was "hurting the religious sentiments" of the people by not allowing "trishul deeksha"
