Colombo, May 11: In an effort to revive Sri Lanka's stalled peace process, Norwegian foreign minister Jan Petersen today held talks with LTTE supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran, official and rebel sources said. Petersen's deputy Vidar Helgesen and Norway's ambassador here Hans Brattskar also took part in the talks in northern rebel-Heled Kilinochchi.
Tamil Tiger chief negotiator Anton Balasingham joined Prabhakaran in the parleys.
The Tigers have made it clear that they want their proposal for an "Interim Self Governing Authority (ISGA)" as the basis for negotiations with the Sri Lankan government.
