Godhra, Oct 18: Nanhen Mian, a main accused in the the Godhra train carnage, arrested in Rampur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, was brought here and remanded to ten days of police custody today. Mian was produced before railway magistrate A R Patel at around 6 am by investigation officer Noel Parmar, police told a news agency adding he has been sent to police remand till October 28.
The accused Mian, alias Nikki Chaudhary, is a dismissed CRPF constable. He was nabbed from the house of his in-laws by a special operations group of the up police.
Uttar Pradesh police had claimed that Mian had revealed the names of 14 other co-accused involved in the torching of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express on February 27 that killed 59 people, including women and children. The mayhem had subsequently led to large scale communal violence in Gujarat.
