Mysore, Oct 23: A Tada court today posted the bail application of a Tamil activist Kolathur Mani, detained under Tada, for order to October 25. When the matter came up before the principal district and sessions judge, Mani's advocate moved the bail application and argued that Mani had been in custody for over six months and no charges had been filed, thus entitling him for the bail. Besides the clearance of the director general of police was needed for the arrest of a person under Tada and this had not been obtained, he argued.
Special public prosecutor did not file any objections against Mani's application for releasing him on bail.
Forest brigand Veerappan has insisted that Mani and Kollagal Taluk JD (U) leader Mahadevaswamy be sent as emissaries to negotiate the release of JD (U) leader H Nagappa.
