Lucknow, June 27: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh who created a storm by alleging Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani were part of the conspiracy to demolish Babri mosque, today said Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati's efforts to resolve the vexed Ayodhya issue may succeed if politicians stay away from the issue.
"The seer's efforts seem to be positive move and he may succeed if politicians stay away from this issue", he said.
Singh said the issue had dragged on due to political interference at different levels and due to vested interest of different political parties.
"Vote aur note ki rajniti ne is mudde ko uljha diya hai (this issue is caught in the mire of vote and money)", Singh said adding that once this stops, the issue will be resolved itself.
He said the seer's efforts seem to be apolitical, he may succeed in resolving this tangle.
