Mumbai, Mar 15: The Maharashtra government has convened a short session of the state legislature from today when a vote-on-account for four months of the next financial year will be taken. Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde announced this decision after the cabinet meeting on February 17.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the government will take a vote-on-account for four months in the three-day session, Shinde said.
The budget for 2004-05 will be presented during the monsoon session, Shinde said, adding it would begin with the Governor's address. While passing the budget, it would also take up discussion on the Governor's address and adopt a motion of thanks to the address, the Chief Minister added.
