Chennai, Sept 21: A delegation of leaders of various political parties in Tamil Nadu, headed by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will hold a meeting with Prime Minister A B Vajpayee on Cauvery issue.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the all-party meet convened by Jayalalithaa, which was boycotted by the main opposition, DMK and a walk-out by the Congress party.
The delegation will present a memorandum to Vajpayee to demand the taking over of all the dams across river Cauvery in Karnataka for 'proper implementation' of the interim award of the Cauvery river water tribunal, official sources told newsmen tonight, after a four-hour meeting.
Jayalalithaa did not brief the press after the meeting.
On the insistence of all major parties, a clause in the memorandum, demanding the dismissal of the S M Krishna government in Karnataka, was removed. Left parties, PMK, BJP and the MDMK, had demanded the removal of this clause from the memorandum.
