All India Reserve Bank Employees Association (AIRBEA) on Thursday called a day's strike on September 6 in all the offices of the apex bank in the country demanding an amicable settlement of pending issues with the management.
As all our peaceful persuasive efforts having failed to evoke positive response from the bank, we have no other alternative, but to observe whole day token strike, AIRBEA general Secretary Samir Ghosh said.
Even at this stage, AIRBEA hopes that better sense will dawn on the RBI management to open dialogue with the association for settlement failing which the institutions will plunge into a long industrial turmoil, he said, adding, Onus of such an eventuality will devolve on the management.
He said while some issues were awaiting solution for several years, many of the demands which had been referred to in the wage settlement of Class II staff signed in mid-August 2000 were kept pending at that time which was to be mutually discussed and sorted out later on.
