Baghdad, Aug 20: Iraq's 25-member interim governing council today blamed the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad on either toppled dictator Saddam Hussein's followers or foreign terrorists. "The council affirms the attack was carried out by either the faithful of the fallen regime or foreign terrorists who have infiltrated our borders," it said in a statement. "They have taken their last breath on Iraqi soil," the statement added. "The Iraqi people who are determined to fight the terrorists and establish a secure, democratic and free society calls on its brother countries and friends at the UN to play a positive role in the efforts to bring stability and security to the entire country."
