Angry over the international community’s decision to ‘‘unofficially’’ impose economic sanctions on India during the recent crisis with Pakistan, New Delhi has decided that all major purchases from abroad will henceforth be leveraged by ‘‘political and security considerations’’. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), during its meeting on June 14, decided that ‘‘in addition to commercial considerations,’’ political and strategic inputs will be essential for any large-scale purchases over approximately $250 million.
