New Delhi, Oct 31: The Congress Central Election Committee has cleared candidates for 191 out of a total 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, while decision on the remaining 39 seats was likely to be taken by late tonight, Chief Minister Digvijay Singh said.
In an informal chat with newspersons, he said the final list of all the candidates was likely to be released tomorrow. However, names of candidates for five or six strategically important constituencies would not be declared immediately, he added.

Singh said that 15 per cent of the sitting MLAs had not been given party ticket. As many as 40 women are likely to be nominated and youths and OBC have also been given due representation, he said.
Denying any ill feeling over allotment of ticket among partymen, he said the selection was being done after extensive consulations. However, not all could be pleased, he added.

The chief ministerial candidates were being finalised early in this election to give them sufficient time for canvassing, he said. Bureau Report
