New Delhi, May 03: Congress today taunted Prime
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee when it sought to know whether
he had taken permission from RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal before
he made promises of jobs and financial aid to Muslims during
his election speeches in a bid to "appease" them.
Posing nine questions to Vajpayee, party spokesman S
Jaipal Reddy asked why did the prime minister not sack
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi or ask him to step down
in the light of "stinging rebuke" of his government by the
supreme court if he was so concerned about Muslims.
"If you are genuinely troubled about the Muslim
community, then why have you not apologised to them for the
demolition of Babri Masjid by your partymen in collusion with
Sangh Parivar?," he further asked.
He also wanted to know whether Vajpayee would ask CBI to
arrest L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti for
their conspiracy and participation in the demolition of the
Masjid.
"Is your appeasement of the Muslim community appended
with a sub text that if you do not vote for the BJP, you will
unleash the wrath of the Togadias and the Singhals on them?"
the Congress further asked him.
