New Delhi, July 12: Samata Party will explore the possibility of forging an understanding with non-BJP NDA constituents for the coming assembly elections in five states in case there was no tie-up with BJP when its two-day national executive and council meeting gets underway here tomorrow. The meeting, which is all set to re-elect defence minister George Fernandes as the party president, will also examine the "difficulties" in running a coalition as it feels that the party faced maximum problems in running the NDA coalition.

Besides taking stock of the current political situation in the country and discussing organisational matters, the meeting would review the party's preparations for the Lok Sabha elections next year, according to party spokesman Shiv Kumar.
He said that the meeting will also adopt resolutions on the present political and economic situation in the country.
