New Delhi, Nov 06: CBI today arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Uttar Pradesh's poetess Madhumita Shukla.
Highly placed agency sources said that Santosh Rai and Rohit Chaturvedi were arrested in Lucknow by the CBI in connection with the murder of the 24-year-old poetess in May this year.
The sources said the two were an important catch in solving the mystery.
Asked whether there was a possibility that the two arrested could be Madhumita's killers, the sources said, "We do not rule out such a possibility. If they are not the killers, then they will definitely lead us to them."
The sources said the arrests came after painstaking investigation into the blind murder.
CBI has already arrested former UP minister Amarmani Tripathi in connection with the murder of Madhumita, who was shot dead at her Paper Colony residence on May 9 this year. Bureau Report
