Kolkata, Nov 06: In a classic case of mixing business with pleasure, senior officials of consulates in India and big corporate names of the country would participate in the "Navision -- Consular Corps of Kolkata Invitational Golf" tournament here from November eight to ten. The event at Tollygunge club, is an initiative of the Consular Corps of Kolkata and would be sponsored by Navision India, a Microsoft business solutions distributor, Navision managing director Yash Nagpal told newsmen today.
Going by the enthusiasm shown by embassy officials and businessmen, Nagpal expressed hope that the annual affair, which began since last year, would soon develop into a tournament promoted by Consular Corps from all over India and act as a window for business opportunities in eastern India. Michel Caillouet, ambassador -- head of delegation European Commission, Michael Sternberg, ambassador of Denmark, Bandhit Sotipalalit, ambassador of Thailand, Herve Barbaret, trade commissioner French embassy and many other foreign diplomats and a French business delegation would be present.
Y C Deveshwar -- chairman of ITC, B Muthuraman -- MD of Tata Steel, B L Raina -- MD of Tinplate, S K Mitra -- director of Birla Sunlife, G P Goenka -- chairman of Duncans Industries and many other luminaries of Indian industry would take part in the tournament, to be played as a team event in "Texas scramble format" with two players of a four-member team playing together. Adding glamour to the event would be former Miss India and Miss Universe runner up Manpreet Brar. Bureau Report
