The glacier, known as Laigu, was found lying along the upper reaches of Ranwu lake, Xinhua news agency reported from Lhasa, Tibet's capital.
On the glacier, experts found ice shaped like rocks, pillars, peaks and caves formed as a result of wind erosion.
It was quite unusual to find such a glacier in at a latitude so close to the equator, it quoted experts as saying.
The archaeologists also discovered four scenic lakes along the upper reaches of the glacier.
