Taj heritage documents handed over to CBI
Lucknow, July 22: Officials of the state environment department have handed over documents related to the controversial Taj heritage corridor project to the Central Bureau of Investigation, official sources said.

Bureau of Investigation, official sources said.
The environment department officials handed over the
documents to the CBI at the probe agency's local office in
presence of two witnesses last evening, the sources said.
The state government inquiry report, prepared by Finance Secretary N C Bajpai, was not available with the environment department and was not handed over to the CBI, they said. The Bajpai report was with the Chief Secretary D S Bagga, who was not present in the state capital yesterday and could not be provided to the probe agency, the sources said.
The probe agency had begun examining the documents and shortlisting persons to be called for questioning, CBI sources said. An investigating team would soon visit the controversial project site in Agra to question officials of the national project construction company entrusted the task of carring out construction at the site, they said.
CBI team led by Deputy Inspector General Neeraj Nayan met Chief Secretary D S Bagga Saturday last and asked him to hand over all the documents related to the controversial project.
