New Delhi, Dec 04: Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi today reserved his ruling on the admissibility of two adjournment motions on the Judev bribery and CVC issues.
New Delhi, Dec 04: Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi today
reserved his ruling on the admissibility of two adjournment
motions on the Judev bribery and CVC issues.
The Speaker said he would give his ruling tomorrow on the motion
relating to the Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) reportedly
complaining to the prime minister about six Central ministers
interfering in the functioning of public sector undertakings (PSUs)
to seek favours.
The ruling on the issue of the then Minister of State for Environment and Forests Dilip Singh Judev accepting bribe would be given after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statement in the house on December 08 or 09 on his return from Nigeria where he has gone to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Earlier, opposition leaders pressed for the acceptance of the motions, sought to be moved by as many as 44 members.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the government had nothing to hide on the two issues and pleaded with the Speaker to give his ruling in the Judev matter after the Prime Minister's statement.
The speaker said he had to go through the reply from the authorities in the ministry of personnel before giving his ruling on the CVC issue.
