Islamabad, Apr 14: Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, President Pervez Musharraf today presided over a two-day conference of the top commanders of Pakistan Army at the military headquarters at Rawalpindi. Official media reports here said that Musharraf addressed the annual conference of the army commanders, during which he briefed them about the geo-political situation, including the deteriorating relations with India.
This was the first conference of the commanders being held after Pakistan pulled back its troops from the borders late last year after a year-long stand off, following a similar decision by India.

After a brief lull following a spate of diplomatic expulsions, tensions started rising after the recent massacre of 24 Kashmiri Pandits allegedly by militants in Jammu and Kashmir.

During today's conference of the army commanders, Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurish Muhammad Kasuri made a detailed presentation of crucial issues relating to Pakistan foreign policy, including the relations with India.
Similar presentations were made by officials of the foreign ministry on the status of Pakistan's economy.
