Aftab remanded to judicial custody for procuring mobile
Kolkata, Mar 04: Aftab Ansari, prime accused in the American Center attack, from whose prison cell a mobile phone and Rs 500 were reportedly found by the police in a surprise raid on February 24, was today remanded in the case to judicial custody till March 17 by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate`s court.

Ansari, now lodged in the presidency jail in connection
with his trial in the American Center attack case was produced
before CMM S C Misra.
The mobile phone was used by Ansari, allegedly having links with Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Harkat-ul-Jehadi, for making calls to accomplices in Dubai.
Earlier, two wardens of presidency jail were suspended and a high-level inquiry was ordered to ascertain how Ansari procured the mobile phone and the cash.
