Second seeded Amritraj was trailing 5-7 1-2 to Australian Sadik Kadir, who lost to Rohan Bopanna in the semifinals last week, when he conceded the match.
Bopanna, the third seed, is drawn to play Dong-Hyun Kim of Korea while sixth seed Vijay Kannan was to face off home qualifier Fandi Suyadi in the first round later yesterday.
The injury to Amritraj came on a day when his entry ranking on the ATP computer fell by three positions to 320 with 97 points.
