Mumbai, Nov 07: It may be his first visit to Mumbai, but Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s son Arin began to live it up from the airport. ‘‘He’s a hassle-free, friendly baby,’’ said the proud mom after landing here early today.

Busy with guests at her parents’ home in Juhu, jet lag hasn’t affected Dixit’s easy laugh. ‘‘It’s good to be back. It’s hard to say any one thing that I’ve missed about Mumbai. My friends, parents, the atmosphere, I missed everything. My roots are here.’’
The actress, who was last seen on Indian screens as Chandramukhi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas last year, will be in Mumbai for the next couple of months. ‘‘I haven’t planned anything,’’ she says, ‘‘I’ve just come to chill. But I will listen to some script narrations.’’

Film offers have already started buzzing around the star. Among them are Farhan Akhtar’s sister Zoya with her directoral debut Lucky By Chance. ‘‘I was sent the script and I think the basic idea is good. But what’s on paper is different from meeting directly. You have to see if you vibe well,’’ says Dixit.

Dixit will also be meeting Rituparno Ghosh and Rajkumar Santoshi for script discussions.

In the meantime, her parents are already hovering around Arin. ‘‘They’re spoiling him with so many toys! I’ve been so used to doing everything for the baby, that it’s hard to let go,’’ she says.

And during her stay, Dixit does intend to catch on one film — Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon.
