We have arrested Mehta, his brothers Ashwin Mehta and Sudhir Mehta in Mumbai following registration of a fresh case of missing shares against the three, CBI spokesman S M Khan told reporters.
Giving details, Khan said the special court looking after cases of Mehta had directed the CBI to probe the case where Mehta had reported that 27 lakh shares belonging to 90 companies had been stolen. Ashwin had reported to the custodian, appointed by the government in 1992 under the Transaction and Securities act, that 27 lakh shares were missing when they were being investigated by the CBI earlier, Khan said.
