In the second incident of its kind within a week, at least seven persons were injured, two of them severely, when a powerful bomb planted by three Maoists exploded this morning at a government office in Kathmandu.

The device blasted in the registration room of the land revenue office at around 1000 hrs, shattering windowpanes and damaging the place, said an officer of Kalimati police post.
Several security personnel are mobilised in the area and the incident is being probed. The government has strengthened security and across the country.
On Monday, the rebels exploded a bomb at the finance ministry's revenue department, injuring a couple of employees. Two people were killed when a device exploded at a carpet showroom in Kathmandu after declaration of emergency on November 26 last year.

King Gyanendra declared the emergency, deploying the Army for the first time in the battle against the militants after they ended four-month-long cease-fire talks and launched attacks on government and security installations in the Hindu Himalayan Kingdom.
