Bangkok, Dec 05: Myanmar was jolted by a moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale, the nation's seismological observatory said today, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The observatory said the quake struck around 300 km northwest of the capital Yangon at approximately 6:00 pm (1700 IST) yesterday, in a hilly and sparsely populated region. The Hong Kong observatory reported yesterday that the quake measured 5.9 on the Richter Scale. Bureau Report
