Muzaffarpur, Aug 23: The dawn- to-dusk bandh against erratic power supply to this north Bihar town evoked response with almost all business and commercial establishments downing shutters and educational institutions closed.
The bandh was called by RJD local MLA Bijendra Chaudhary to protest the erratic power supply to the town and faulty bills to consumers.
There was no report of any untoward incident as police was deployed at important state and central government installations.

Shops, even in residential localities downed shutters and vehicular traffic was very thin.
Though the state and Central government offices and banks were open, there was a significant drop in attendance, official sources said.
Thousands of supporters of Chaudhary descended on the streets since early morning shouting slogans against Bihar State Electricity Board and staged a day-long dharna in front of its office.
