Pakistan Thursday said it is in the process of locating 14 Indian nationals figuring in the list of 20 criminals and terrorists wanted by India. “We are locating them and once they are located they will be dealt with according to the law of the land. If there is case against anyone, we will proceed against him,” defence spokesman Rashid Qureshi said on Wednesday.
On Islamabad`s reported counter-move to provide New Delhi with its own list of alleged criminals and terrorists in India, he said, “We were told by the Indian government that there existed no extradition treaty between the two countries, therefore nobody could be extradited to Pakistan. Speaking at a workshop for journalists on defence reporting, he asserted that Pakistan had not given or would not give asylum to any alleged Indian terrorist or criminal.
Qureshi`s comments came on the eve of FBI chief Robert Muller`s visit to Pakistan on Thursday and is ostensibly aimed at impressing the US about progress made on the Indian demand for handover of the terrorists and criminals.
