Washington, Oct 01: Faced with a spate of American casualties in Iraq, US President Bush has reiterated his appeal to other nations to help build a free Iraq.
"Aggressively striking the terrorists in Iraq we're
defeating them there so we don't have to face them in our own
country. We call on other nations to help build a free Iraq,"
Bush said at a fund raiser in Chicago yesterday.
"We've come far, but our work is only beginning," he stated.
Pointing at the hostilities faced by American forces in Iraq, Bush said Saddam's holdouts and foreign terrorists were desperately trying to throw Iraq into chaos by attacking coalition forces and aid workers as well as Iraqis.
"We stand with the Iraqi people as they assume more of their own defense and move towards self-government. These aren't easy tasks, but they are essential tasks. We will finish what we have begun, and we will win this essential victory in the war on terror," he emphasised. Bureau Report
