Reliance pays Rs 1542 cr for switching over to unified licence
New Delhi, Nov 12: Reliance Infocomm today paid Rs 1542 crore to government for converting its basic telecom service licence into new unified licence, a move which would enable the company to offer full mobility services on its WLL phones.
New Delhi, Nov 12: Reliance Infocomm today paid Rs 1542 crore to government for converting its basic telecom service licence into new unified licence, a move which would enable the company to offer full mobility services on its WLL phones.
"Reliance Infocomm has today formally opted to migrate to unified access services licence by paying the requisite fees of Rs 1542 crore as notified by the Department of Telecom (DoT)," the company said in a statement here.
It said this move would enable its over five million
subscribers across the country to continue with the existing
services seamlessly and allow reliance to provide them new
enhanced services as a result of unified access regime.
