Jammu and kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) plan to take out a rally to protest Pota was foiled on Monday when police prohibited its leaders to come out of their party headquarters in Srinagar, a party spokesman said. Policemen deployed at the party headquarters at Maulana Azad road resisted attempts of the Congress workers to take out the rally from their headquarters to the divisional commissioner's office forcing the organisers to cancel the programme, the spokesman said.
Finally, only three leaders of the party, Khem Lata Wakhloo, Pirzada Mohammad Sayed and Taj Mohiuddin, submitted a memorandum to the commissioner's office, the spokesman said describing the act of preventing Congress workers from holding the rally as undemocratic and uncalled for. Bureau Report
