Jammu, Dec 10: Militants abducted and shot dead a civilian in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir where a power improvised explosive device was detected and defused last night, official sources said today. One Hussain Ali was kidnapped by militants from his native village of Jablandharam last evening and shot dead in nearby forests, they said.
His body was found by BSF personnel this morning, the sources said adding that militants had chopped off one of the fingers from his right hand.
Security forces detected a powerful IED weighing five kgs planted on road at Udinpur last evening. Experts were summoned and the explosive was defused, they said.


At Barni, in the outskirts of Jammu city, police found a bag containing one AK-56 rifle, three magzines and a Pakistan made knife.
