Patna, Dec 02: The Bihar Police has come across vital clues that indicate strong links of the prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, Abdul Karim Telgi, with the state.

the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, Abdul Karim Telgi,
with the state.
The economic offences wing of the CID has come across
vital evidence about existence of a printing press in Patna
which was run by Telgi and his associates, Director General of
Police, D Ojha, told today.
The printing machine was shifted to Kolkata after functioning for four years in the state capital.
The DGP said in view of the inter-state and international ramification of the scam, he had recommended a CBI probe into the affairs of the gang in Bihar about a week back. Fake non-judicial stamps, stamp papers and fake foreign currency notes worth Rs several lakhs were seized in Patna about a month ago and the local police had registered a case with the Kotwali Police Station.
A senior official of the CID on condition of anonymity said that the organisation had received vital clues about the modus-operandi of the gang involved in printing fake stamp papers and it was in the process of probing links of the arrested persons with Telgi.
