Jammu, Dec 05: Two Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami militants were arrested by BSF and an equal number of ultras surrendered to security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, official sources said here today. Two HuJI militants identified as Mohammad Shabir Dar alias Abu Nawaz and Gulzar Ahmed alias Yasin were arrested by BSF personnel during an encounter at Dimi village of Udhampur district, they said.
Two AK rifles with 140 rounds, three Chinese hand grenades and one wireless set was seized from them.
The militants are being questioned by the BSF and would be handed over to police later for detailed interrogation, the sources said.
Meanwhile, two militants identified as Showkat Hussain Tantrey of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and Manzoor Ahmed of HuJI surrendered to Rashtriya Rifles personnel in Bhaderwah town of Doda district. They handed over an AK rifle, two grenades and 50 detonators to the RR officials, the sources said.
In a separate incident police recovered one kg brown sugar worth Rs one crore in the international market from a shop in Shindra village in Poonch district yesterday, they said. Bureau Report
