Haryana issues over 4 lakh I-cards
Chandigarh, Oct 07: The Haryana government has issued 4.15 lakh identity cards to the old, widowed and handicapped pensioners of the state to enable them to get the benefits of various schemes floated by the government.
Chandigarh, Oct 07: The Haryana government has issued 4.15 lakh identity cards to the old, widowed and handicapped pensioners of the state to enable them to get the benefits of various schemes floated by the government.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of social justice and empowerment department said that the department had set a target to issue over 13.22 lakh such identity cards to the beneficiaries of pension schemes.
He said that a sum of rs.235.27 crore had been earmarked under Devi Lal old age pension scheme for the current financial year, out of which rs.90.96 crore had been distributed among 9,28,672 beneficiaries till August end.
He said that a sum of Rs.85.55 crore had been earmarked under `widow pension scheme' this fiscal.
