Dubai, Mar 06: Paul McGinley produced a sparkling display to take a one-shot lead in the weather-hit Dubai Desert Classic. McGinley completed his delayed first round with four birdies and then began the second round with four more before reaching the half-way mark on 11-under.

Mark O'Meara is just behind on 10 under thanks to a blistering second-round 64.

Tiger Woods carded four birdies in a 69 to reach five-under, but the second round could not be completed following Thursday's weather delay.

McGinley, who sank the winning putt in the 2002 Ryder Cup, has slipped from 35th in the world to 159th but says he has been playing better than his ranking suggests.
