New Delhi, Dec 30: Senior Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah has said the Centre should take the help of Ram Jethmalani's Kashmir Committee for its proposed dialogue with separatist elements in Jammu and Kashmir.
Stressing that a formal invitation should come from the central leadership indicating the agenda for talks, Shah, who is in capital, told a news agency that "we are not against the process of discussing Kashmir with anyone but all we demand is a reflection of an element of sincerity." However, he said the Kashmiri leaders were not inclined to shed their "once bitten twice shy" approach as Centre had not shown any sincerity in talks.
"We will appreciate if the Kashmir Committee, which has held several rounds of talks with me and Hurriyat Conference, was roped in the talks," Shah said, adding "I am confident that the Kashmir Committee will act as a bridge between Centre and Kashmiris and India and Pakistan." The senior Kashmiri separatist leader, who is here in connection with discussions on challenging the death sentence of three convicts in the Parliament attack case, said the Centre should now come up quickly with a concrete proposal to hold talks with separatist elements of the state.

To a question about the divided stand of separatist elements in the state on holding talks with the Centre, Shah said "one must see the sea change in Hurriyat. Now they are talking to Kashmir Committee despite infighting. It is also the reason for my contention for roping in Kashmir Committee for talks." Bureau Report
