A nationwide mass campaign against Vajpayee government's misrule has been launched by CPI (M) which would culminate this month-end in gherao of FCI godowns, road blockades and courting of arrests by party activists. The campaign and agitation was primarily to focus on the policies which had led to subjugation of India's economic and political sovereignty by US imperialism, party's politburo member Sitaram Yechury said.
During the campaign which began on Friday in which groups of party workers would cover all districts of the country and hold over 5000 public meetings, Yechury said and added they would also focus on saffronisation and corruption scandals that have taken place during the NDA rule. In the last three days of the campaign from September 25, the workers would court arrest, carry out road blockades and gherao food corporation godowns with the slogan ‘Tala todo, khana baanto’ (break locks, distribute food) to focus on starvation deaths in different parts of the country and overflowing foodstocks in these godowns, Yechury said.
