Jhajjar (Haryana), Nov 16: Villagers resorted to a nine-hour blockade of various roads from here today for the second day in protest against the arrest of 10 persons in connection with the lynching of five Dalits who had allegedly skinned a cow recently and incidents of violence on Wednesday. Haryana town and country minister Dhirpal Singh was stuck in the blockade in Kablan village and had to take another route to reach Jhajjar.
Road were blocked in Jahangir village, including Jhajjar Badli road, Dadri Toye on Gurgaon road, Silani on Rewari road, Kablan village on Delhi road, and Hassanpur village on Kosli road from 8 am today.
The decision to block roads till November 20 was taken by the maha panchayat of villagers on November 14. However, the market remained opened here. There was no report of any untoward incident from any place in the district.
