Kolkata, July 16: The Trinamool Congress would take up wih Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee the "trampling of democracy" in West Bengal by the CPI(M)-led Left Front government besides the state's "financial bankruptcy" during the prolonged lf rule at a meeting with him today. Senior TC leader Pankaj Banerjee said that a party delegation led by Chief Mamata Banerjee would raise these issues when they would call on the Prime Minister at Raj Bhavan in the evening. He said that they would inform Vajpayee how 'Parliamentary democracy' was "trampled" by the CPI(M)-led ruling Left Front. Asked whether the tc delegation would raise the demand for imposition of central rule in the state which was earlier nixed by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, the TC leader said, "We will apprise the Prime Minister of the prevailing political situation and also request him to take appropriate steps to restore democracy in the state". The TC delegation would also raise the issue of the state's "financial bankruptcy" during LF rule.

He said that the party supremo would have a separate meeting with Vajpayee.
