One killed, four injured in a grenade blast in Srinagar
Srinagar, Mar 20: One person was killed and four others injured, one of them seriously, when militants lobbed a grenade at security forces in Khanyar area of the city here today, official sources said.

Militants lobbed a grenade at security forces at Khanyar, which missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside, the sources said.
Security forces, overcome by panic, fired several rounds in retaliation.
Five persons were injured, two with bullet injuries and three others with minor splinter wounds, the sources said. The injured where rushed to SMHS Hospital for treatment where one of the injured identified as Mohammad Afzal Choudhry succumbed, the sources said.
Another seriously injured person, Mohammad Ashraf who had received a bullet injury in his head, was referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences for specialised treatment, they said. The other three injured persons were discharged after being given first aid, they added.
